Louis A. DeRubbo

1938 - 2025

Louis Anthony DeRubbo, of North Huntingdon, passed away Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, at the age of 87. Louis (nickname "Sonny") was born Sept. 25, 1938, in Rankin, the only son of Anthony and Helen DeRubbo. He married the love of his life (Arlene Hreha) on July 10, 1965. They were married for 55 years before Arlene's passing from cancer in 2020. He is survived by two sons, Chris (Jacque) DeRubbo of Plum Borough, PA, and Jeff (Jina) DeRubbo of Washington, PA. He was a grandfather of six: Ethan (Lexie) DeRubbo of Columbus, OH, Madison (Blake) Reeping of Manor, PA, Andrew Tallerico of Plum Borough, PA, and Riley, Dante, and Dominic DeRubbo, all of Washington, PA. He recently became a great-grandfather to Franklin DeRubbo, son of Ethan and Lexie. Louis was a member of St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon. He spent over 30 years working for Westinghouse Electric as a drafting engineer before retiring in 1996. He enjoyed golfing, reading, and being a handyman who could literally fix anything. He and Arlene loved spending time with their Ride and Hunt Club crew, where they would get together for their monthly dinners and a little gambling. Louis also enjoyed having monthly lunches with his "Rankin guys" at Jodi B's restaurant. He was known for his quick wit and joking nature even during his last days by calling all the nurses "babe," just as he called every female he encountered. He and Arlene found the most joy in doing things with their children and grandchildren. Spending countless hours at sporting events, school functions, and holidays together. He never missed an opportunity to take photos of his grandchildren. He was a strong, kind, and caring man who will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.
