Marianne Laudadio Dreistadt, 67, of Pleasant Unity, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009. She was born March 5, 1941, in Penn, a daughter of the late George and Carrie (Rause) Laudadio. She was a graduate of Hempfield Area High School Class of 1959. Prior to retirement, she was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 29 years, and was a member of St. Florian Catholic Church, United. She loved to travel and enjoyed taking many pictures. Her family and friends meant the world to her and she has touched so many lives with her strength, grace and positive attitude. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Laudadio. She is survived by her husband, John E. Dreistadt; three children, Daniel and his wife, Sherry, and David Dreistadt, all of Pleasant Unity, and Sharon Dreistadt Snyder and her husband, Jeffrey, of Laughlintown; and her pride and joy, her two grandchildren, Brandon Jeffrey and Brooke Nicole Snyder, who knew her as Grandma "Peanut." She has taught them so much and has spent quality time with them. They enjoyed every moment with her. She is also survived by five brothers, George, of Brooklyn, N.Y., Jim and wife, Peggy, of Rockport, Texas, Bob and wife, Linda, of Dallas, Texas, Don and wife, Connie, of Ligonier, and Joe Laudadio and wife, Cheri, of Greensburg; six sisters, Patti Sarsfield and husband, Bill, of Penn, Barb Keough, of Irwin, Nancy Bittner, of Greensburg, Kathy Coyne and husband, Tom, of Livonia, Mich., Donna Laudadio, of Greensburg, and Tina Laudadio, of Penn; her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Elsie Bossart and husband, Archie, of Pleasant Unity, Grace Specht and her late husband, Lester, of Acme, the late Donna Dickson and her husband, Chuck, of Pleasant Unity, Dorothy Danser and husband, Richard, of Humphreys, Pete Dreistadt and wife, Christine, of Pleasant Unity, Margie Martelli and husband, John, of Latrobe, and Marcie Novak and husband, Jim, of Trauger; and many loving nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the GAUT-BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday in St. Florian Catholic Church at a time to be announced. Interment will follow in Pleasant Unity Methodist Cemetery, Unity Township.
