Mildred (Gratcar) Leonard, 80, of Greensburg, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at home. She was born March 5, 1935, in Pleasant Unity, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Depto Gratcar. Minnie retired from Westmoreland Hospital. She was a member of St. Paul Parish in Carbon, where she served numerous ministries, including Rosary Altar Society, the funeral choir and her favorite, Communion Service and Recitation of the Rosary at Hempfield Manor. She also was a member of the Seton Hill Family of God Prayer Group and Our Lady of Grace Church Bible Study Group. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Donald G. Leonard, on June 6, 2012; three brothers, infant George, Michael (killed in World War II) and John Gratcar; and two sisters, Mary (the late Richard) Fajt and Eleanor Kochis. She is survived by a son, Donald Leonard and wife, Janet E., of Overland Park, Kan.; a daughter, Lesa Brasco and husband, William E., of Greensburg; four grandchildren, Lauren Leonard and partner, Matthew, Marissa Delair and husband, Matthew, and Vincent and Adele Brasco; a sister, Dorothy (the late Jack) Mahoney; sister-in-law, Mary Gratcar; two brothers-in-law, Karl Kochis and James (the late Elaine) DiPrimio; and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Minnie from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. Parting prayers will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Paul Church, Greensburg. Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Church, 820 Carbon Road, Greensburg, PA 15601.
