Nancy O. Shirey

Nancy O. Saar Shirey, 68, of Irwin, died Thursday, June 12, 2008, in Baldock Health Care Centre, North Huntingdon. She was born Sept. 23, 1939, in Pittsburgh to the late August and Olivia Winter Saar and also was preceded in death by brothers John and Thomas Saar and sister Mary Fitzgibbon. Nancy was a former member of the Westmoreland City VFD Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving are her husband, Gerald Shirey; children, Michael A. Shirey and wife Darcy of Penn Township, and Susan O. Keller and husband Michael, of North Huntingdon; grandchildren, Sarah, Gretchen, Michael, Matthew, Connor and Lauren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the JOSEPH F. OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., 504 Oak St., Irwin, where a service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the chapel. Interment will follow in St Mary Cemetery, Sharpsburg. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis TN. 38105.
