Phyllis J. Sebek

1930 - 2025

Phyllis J. Sebek, 95, of Mt. Pleasant, died on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025, in Independence Health System Frick Hospital. She was born on May 4, 1930, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Chester and Mabel Cross Ludwig. Mrs. Sebek was a 1948 graduate of the former Hurst High School. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant and was active in the annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner served to the community. Among her hobbies, she loved bowling, reading, knitting, crocheting, and trips to the casino and was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan. She is survived by her children, Richard "Rick" Sebek and his wife, Miriam "Mimi," David Sebek and his wife, Mary Ellen, and Susie Coppula and her husband, Douglas; her grandchildren, Allison Willis and her husband, Jason, Jessica Toia, Scott Sebek and his wife, Hope, Major Craig Sebek and his wife, Valerie, Alysia Moulton and her husband, Matthew, Amber Coppula, and Adam Coppula; her great-grandchildren, Grayson and Dane Willis, Kalie Sebek, Abigail Sebek, Mason Sebek, Maxwell Moulton, Riley Baker, and Ramsey Sebek; her sister, Lois Thomas, and her husband, Tim; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Richard E. Sebek, in 2002; her sister, Norma Nicollette; and her brother, Chester Ludwig. As per the wishes of Phyllis, there will be no public viewing or services. All arrangements are under the direction of the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mt. Pleasant.
