Raymond J. Suttle

1928 - 2017

Raymond J. "Syke" Suttle, 89, of Scottdale (East Huntingdon Township), passed away at 4:40 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017, in the Scottdale Manor and Rehabilitation Center, Scottdale. Ray was born Feb. 8, 1928, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Harry and Cora Mae (Brown) Suttle. He was married to Genevieve I. (Felgar) Suttle, who passed away on April 3, 2016. Ray retired in 1984 from U.S. Steel (National Tube, McKeesport) where he worked as a foreman in the seamless finishing department. He was a member of the Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church but recently was attending Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. A veteran of the Korean War, he served as a corporal in the Marines. Ray was also a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ray will be sadly missed by his loving family; his brother, John "Jack" Suttle, of Scottdale; his sister-in-law, Bonnell Suttle, of Levittown; his two brothers-in-law, Wayne Felgar, of Connellsville and Roy Felgar, of McHaffey; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Harry Suttle Jr. and James Suttle.

Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday with, Pastor Tom Shirer officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will follow in Scottdale Cemetery next to his late wife.
