Robert C. Garland, 58, passed away Nov. 19, 2025. Born in Greensburg, he was the son of the late Robert W. Garland and Dorothy K. Garland. The youngest of six children, Rob attended Greensburg Central Catholic High School, Class of 1985. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with undergraduate degrees in business, economics, and behavioral psychology before earning a dual JD/MBA from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and Katz School of Business. In 1993 Rob joined the Pennsylvania Bar Association. A talented businessman, he spent his career managing distressed companies and turning them into successful operations employing thousands. Rob was an adjunct professor of finance at the Katz School of Business. He held the titles of president, CEO, CFO, and board member of numerous companies. With his sheepish grin and quick wit, Rob was always up for a hearty discussion that often included good-natured banter about anything from hunting and fishing to politics and nutrition to philosophy or spirituality. With a kind and lovable heart, Rob generously supported local and national food banks and
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Above all, Rob was a devoted and proud father to his sons, Robert William Garland II and Thomas Alexander Garland. Together they enjoyed traveling to their beach home in Watersound, FL, fishing in the Gulf, and hunting on their Ligonier property and surrounding areas. They also enjoyed golfing the links wherever they were and spent many evenings watching movies and playing board games. In addition to his sons, Rob is survived by his siblings, Greg Garland (Mardi), Summer Friedlander (Duffy), Timothy Garland, Colleen Robinson, and Holly Garland (Nick); and his niece and many nephews. Rob also had very special friends, including Ken Ficerai, Paul Stinebiser, John Scanlon, and Bruce Monsour; along with Dan and Linda Baumbach (neighbors in Wisconsin and partners in Titan Conveyors); and many wonderful friends in Watersound, FL. Visitation and services for Robert were private and handled by Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, Greensburg. Memorial donations may be made to
