Robert Seibert Obituary

Robert A. "Bob" Seibert Jr., 65, of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Shadyside Hospital. He was born June 1, 1948, in McKeesport, a son of the late Robert and Helen Wallace Seibert. Bob worked at Jim Dandy's Restaurant, Koppers Company, Westinghouse Electric, Diamond Cab Access, Longbridge Station and Kreiser Distributing over the last 45 years. For more than 20 years, he was a member of the wedding band "Amber", playing harmonica, flute, congas and was the lead singer. He was a graduate of Norwin, Class of 1966, Penn State University 1970 and served in the Army from 1970 to 1973. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Robert Lape; and nephew, Kevin Lape. He was the loving husband of Ina Beveridge Seibert. He leaves behind his three sons, Shawn (Sherry) Scott, Jody (Jamie) Seibert and grandson, Cole; his sister, Evelyn Lape; niece, Sharon Lape; brother-in-law, Wayne Beveridge; and many great friends and extended family. He also leaves behind his cats, Sammy, DJ, Night and Day and Whiskers. Bob also cared for stray cats, his outside cats, Sox, Bobbie Sox and Rocket. Friends were received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the JAMES W. SHIRLEY FUNERAL HOME, 176 Clay Pike. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. The family requests donations to be made to the Humane Society of Westmoreland County, PO Box 1552, Greensburg, PA 15601.
