Robert Gerald 'Bob' Vought, 82, of Saltsburg, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Born Nov. 6, 1941, in Greensburg, he was a son of the late Robert D. Vought and Ester (Marts) Vought. Bob was a 1959 graduate of Saltsburg High School and worked as an electrician at Kennametal Inc., Latrobe, for many years, retiring in 2003. He was a member of St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church in Saltsburg. Bob enjoyed farming, going to auctions, and hanging out with his dog, Maggie. He most loved being with his family. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Vought; and his sisters, Rheda McGarry, Ruth Caldwell-Bish, and Jean Ankney. Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Geraldine E. (Tagliati) Vought; children, Brian A. (Beverly) Vought, of Saltsburg, Sheri L. Kavala, of Gibsonia, and Timothy R. Vought, of Harrison City; grandchildren, Nichole (Brendon) Heide, Brian Vought, Kevin Kavala, and James (Helen) Vought; and his beloved dog, Maggie. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024, in the CURRAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 701 Salt St., Saltsburg. Parting prayers will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, 703 Indiana Ave., Saltsburg, with Father John Harold as celebrant. Following the Mass, entombment will take place at Twin Valley Memorial Park Mausoleum, Delmont.
