Ross Perot Obituary

Henry Ross Perot, loving husband, brother, father and grandfather, died Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at his home, in Dallas, Texas. He was 89 years old. With his death, the world has lost a true American patriot and a man of rare vision, integrity and deep compassion. Ross was born June 27, 1930, in Texarkana, Texas, to Gabriel Ross and Lulu May Perot. Ross often said that although he was born during the Great Depression, he was abundantly blessed in all the ways that mattered most because of the love and example of his wonderful parents. He gave them credit for laying the foundation for all of his later successes. This foundation was, at its core, a deep faith in God. His parents emphasized the importance of honesty and generosity, hard work and the central value of family. The Boy Scouts shaped his life immeasurably. As a member of Texarkana's Troop 18, Ross became an Eagle Scout at the age of 13. He credited the Scouts with teaching him to be a morally upright and responsible citizen, with a commitment to better the lives of his fellow man, his community and his country. After two years at Texarkana College, Ross received an appointment in 1949 to the United States Naval Academy, which had been his longtime dream. As he often said, "I had never seen the ocean, and I had never seen a ship - but I knew that I wanted to go to the Naval Academy." His leadership ability became evident as he served as a battalion commander and president of his class. He also chaired the Honor Committee, which developed the Naval Academy's Honor Code. While at the Naval Academy, he met the love of his life, Margot Birmingham, then a student at Goucher College, in Baltimore. They were married Sept. 15, 1956, at the First Presbyterian Church in Margot's hometown of Greensburg. After graduating from the Naval Academy in 1953, Ross was commissioned as an ensign in the Navy, when the country was in the last stages of the Korean War. He was assigned to the USS Sigourney, a destroyer on which he served until a truce was signed ending the war. He later served as assistant navigator on the USS Leyte, an aircraft carrier, until he resigned from the Navy. As he was preparing to leave, he was offered a job with IBM in Dallas. Sales was a skill he learned early; he often shared that he had his business school experience in the streets of Texarkana. He started his entrepreneurial journey working at his father's side selling saddles, later progressing to selling the horses. In his words, he was the "day trader" of his time. He would buy a horse in the morning and sell it that afternoon to make a small profit. Ross applied those same skills to selling newspapers, first by horse and later by bike. He also worked after school at his father's cotton brokerage as well as training horses. With this early training, he developed an instinct for sales. At IBM, he excelled to the point that in January of 1962, he met his sales quota for the entire year. With characteristic modesty, Ross often remarked that he did well at IBM because of high demand. It was thought then that every large company needed a computer, so it was, as he said, "like selling umbrellas when it was raining." In truth, he was determined in his efforts to sell what were then million-dollar machines. He was thorough with his research and attentive to the customers' needs, and because of that, he began to notice that few of his customers knew how to operate their computer systems. In addition to hardware, Ross believed that IBM should begin offering a full suite of data processing services, customized to each client. Seeing an unmet need and an opportunity, he tried to persuade IBM to enter the computer support services business. When the company declined, Ross struck out on his own. He founded Electronic Data Systems (EDS) on June 27, 1962, with $1,000 saved from his work and Margot's teaching salary. "Our business is the intelligent use of computers" was the EDS tagline. In reality, the business was the start a new industry: information technology services. Eventually, he would take EDS public, create a second company, Perot Systems, and take that public, too. Ross had a keen instinct for spotting great talent and the EDS and Perot Systems teams were full of the best and brightest. Together, those two companies created tens of thousands of jobs in the United States and internationally. They not only created an industry, but also laid the foundation for the future technological era. In business and in life, Ross was a man of integrity and action. He valued what Teddy Roosevelt called "the man in the arena," the one who strives valiantly, with great courage, not standing on the sidelines. Like his father, Ross had a sunny optimism, believing that with effort and skill, almost any problem could be solved. When he saw a problem, he stepped up and tried to fix it. His actions revealed his philosophy: "If not me, who? And if not now, when?" Ross was a loyal son of Texas and a deeply patriotic citizen, and over the years, he served at the request of governors and presidents on various committees and task forces. In 1979, he was appointed by Gov. Bill Clements to lead the Texas War on Drugs to toughen drug laws in the state and increase public awareness. In 1984, at the behest of Gov. Mark White, he led a statewide education reform initiative that recommended pay increases for teachers, preschool programs and more state aid to property-poor school districts. His willingness to serve his country was most public in his two presidential campaigns, in 1992 and 1996. Both times he ran as a third-party candidate with a platform centered on campaign reform, protecting American workers from outsourcing and cutting the national debt. His 1992 run was particularly historic. In that election, he won 19.7 million votes, almost 20 percent of the total. It was more than any third-party candidate since Theodore Roosevelt ran on the Bull Moose ticket in 1912. Ross received 19 honorary doctorates from universities and prestigious awards for his humanitarianism and business achievements. Notable among the awards were the Winston Churchill Award, presented by Prince Charles and Nancy Reagan; the Dwight D. Eisenhower Award for his commitment to national security; the Distinguished Graduate Award from the U.S. Naval Academy; and the National Patriot Award from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society. He also received the Horatio Alger Award for his contributions to the free enterprise system. One of his most meaningful honors was in 2017 when Gen. Robert B. Neller, commandant of the Marine Corps, came to Dallas and named Ross an Honorary Marine, United States Marine Corps, for his unyielding support and devotion to corps and community. Ross was particularly dedicated to the men and women who fight for our freedom. As a veteran, he knew the sacrifices made by the armed forces, and he supported them in every way he could. Some of his efforts were very public: During the Vietnam War, he joined forces with the wives of the U.S. POWs to raise awareness for those men who were either missing in action or being held captive. He organized mission trips to improve the conditions of POWs and worked tirelessly to secure their freedom. After the first Gulf War, Ross funded the research at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center to understand the neurotoxic brain damage many of the soldiers were experiencing after returning home. The ailment was later recognized by the Department of Veterans Affairs as Gulf War Syndrome. This led to federally funded treatment of those suffering its debilitating symptoms. However, most of his efforts on behalf of service members were private and individual. Each interaction left him more in awe of these courageous and patriotic Americans, and he was honored to be to be called upon. As a child in the Depression, he witnessed his mother feeding strangers who would knock on their door. She told him, "these people are just like us but they are down on their luck." With that inspiration, he and Margot established the Perot Foundation in 1969 with the goal of helping fund projects that would improve people's lives. Since then, the Foundation has supported education programs, health care research, cultural and arts institutions, veterans' causes and programs to meet immediate human needs and reduce suffering. Ross was also deeply devoted to his employees. In 1979, during the Iranian Revolution, two EDS employees were held hostage in Tehran. Ross organized and financed a mission to free them. The rescue was memorialized in the best-selling book by Ken Follett, "On Wings of Eagles." As Ross' health declined over the last decade, those he cared for so deeply were able to return the devotion. He found comfort in familiar routines and went to the office each morning where he relished time with longtime friends and employees. He was beautifully cared for by a team of talented people who always went above and beyond with great tenderness. In addition to family, they were some of his closest friends. For this, his family will be eternally grateful. Above all else, Ross was devoted to his family. He always said his father was his best friend. When he died in 1955, it was a tremendous blow. He remained close to his mother, whom he sought out for both company and counsel, until her death in 1979. Likewise, his adored sister, Bette, was a close confidant, both at the Perot Foundation, where she served as director for many years, and in life. Ross and Bette visited every day until his death. He was married to the love of his life for 62 years, and for each day, he felt lucky she had agreed to be his wife. Margot was his partner in their many endeavors and a perfect complement in every way. If there was a dance floor, Ross and Margot could be found on it. They delighted in each other's company and Ross was dazzled by Margot until the end. He raved about her beauty, her compassion, her warmth and her "world-class mothering skills." They had five children, whom he always said were "too good to be true." Despite his many commitments, Ross was a steady, reliable and loving presence in the lives of his family. He was home each day at 6:30 for dinner, coming through the door with a whistle, sitting down at the table and asking them about their day. Ross and Margot provided their children with amazing experiences, travel and outdoor family adventures. When they purchased their home in 1970, Ross was able to have a stable that was filled with horses and ponies for the whole family. Over the years, a menagerie of dogs, cats, a goat, a circus dog, a bear, an eagle and a camel made their home a magical place to grow up. Ross learned to ski in his 40s and enjoyed almost 40 years of family trips to Vail, Colo., where he loved the exhilaration of skiing as fast as possible in his inimitable style with family members streaming behind and attempting to keep up with his pace. His passion for boats and the open water engendered in the Navy was evidenced by weekends at Lake Texoma and summers in Bermuda. He enjoyed the pristine beauty of the island he and Margot first visited in 1957. He was happiest piloting his boat on afternoon cruises around the island, blaring John Phillip Sousa marches and being surrounded by his grandchildren. Ross was a devoted grandfather to 16 grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. He enriched their lives, broadened their horizons and set an example of integrity, courage and living one's life with the highest of principles. As with his children, "Papa" was more proud of their accomplishments than of his own. Ross was a man who did more in his long and, by his own assessment, "lucky" life than seems humanly possible. Yet through it all, he said his family was the brightest light of his life. Not only was he warm and affectionate, but also he was great fun to be with and made everyone laugh with his famous sense of humor and legendary pranks. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. He lived a long and honorable life. Ross was preceded in death by his mother, Lulu May Perot; his father, Gabriel Ross Perot Sr.; and his brother, Gabriel Ross Perot Jr. He is survived by his wife, Margot; his sister, Bette Perot; his son, Ross Jr. and his wife, Sarah Perot; his daughter, Nancy and her husband, Rod Jones; his daughter, Suzanne and her husband, Patrick McGee; his daughter, Carolyn and her husband, Karl Rathjen; his daughter, Katherine and her husband, Eric Reeves; his grandchildren, Hill, Hunter, Sarah Catherine (and her husband Reed Ruschhaupt) and Meredith Perot; Ross (and his wife Tori), Price, Ben and Clayton Mulford; Patrick, William, Margot and Cameron McGee; Henry and Bette Rathjen; Kate Flanagan and Stuart Reeves; and three step-grandchildren, Elizabeth Reeves and Caroline and Will Jones. Ross also is survived by the many lives he touched. To share your story, please go to rossperot.com/share. In place of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to one of Ross' favorite charities: the Circle Ten Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, the Salvation Army DFW, the North Texas Food Bank, the Visiting Nurse Association of Texas and Teach for America. Contributions can be made at rossperot.com/donate. Dear Ross and Family.. What a treasure all of you have been to Dallas, to Texas, to America, and to the world.
I first met Ross at EDS as an SED.. (Systems Engineer Development Program). Ross was at the EDS workout facilities at Forest Lane and doing Tai Chi. I had no idea what he was doing but stood behind him to mirror his movements. He saw me and then did a Jiu-Jitsu leg sweep on me and I fell to the ground. I am 6'1" and Ross was 5'5" and that may be an exaggeration!... and he took me down and laughed his signature Ross laugh.
After that we met regularly up at the Forest Lane location and it was many months until I was close to being his equal. He sponsored me in many tournaments and even came to the Southwest Regional finals.
His laughter, his grit, his fortitude his passion are always aspects I will cherish about Ross.. and even when he put me to the mat although I was a much larger person.
Ross was a larger person in life and didn't brag about his many conquests and I owe him a great debt of gratitude.
My Best.. to you Ross and all of your family...!

My deepest condolences to the family. May the God of all comfort sustain your family during the days ahead.

Ross Perot was a true American patriot. He used his wealth and influence to shift power back in the direction of the American people. Mr.Perot courageously stood up to the deep state and made them shake in their boots. I still tell my friends "I never disagreed with anything Ross Perot or Jesus said or attempted to do." God Bless you Ross Perot.

What a GOOD MAN! I have always admired his character, integrity, love for our country, and care for the everyday man and woman. He inspired me on every level. Thank you, Mr. Perot! You stood up for us. You fought for us! And we trusted you to get it all done. You outshone your competitors on every level and would have made a fine president. We owe you a debt of gratitude. Rest in peace, sir.

I wish I could have said "thank you" face-to-face with Ross. We talked briefly on the phone many years ago on my 20th Anniversary with the EDS Corp, but I would have liked to have shook his hand for all he did for me. Ross and I had something in common: we were both the same height, which is to say short. But, to me, he was a giant. I started life late in life and could not afford to go to college, until I was 30. When I graduated from college, I was 35, and it seemed that no company wanted to hire me...except for one company, EDS, that saw potential in this older student. I have been retired now for years. I shudder to think what my life would be like now, were it not for Ross Perot and the company he founded that gave me a chance to prove that I, too, could be an EDS Eagle. Until EDS, I was a total failure in life. That's just the stark, honest truth. But, I joined EDS, and I worked very hard and was rewarded well, just as I was told that I would be. I eventually rose to the rank of EDS Senior Systems Engineer as well as EDS Senior Systems Administrator. I doubt if any member of the Perot family will read this, but if you are "out there" and read this, I want to thank you, too. No man is an island, and those of us who were long-time EDSers knew that he had a strong family behind him. Ross...I owe you so much, it is truly hard for me to fully express it in words. But, I'll see you I heaven, my dear friend. Until then, please know how much your life did good in my life and in the lives of countless others. May God Bless You and all of your Loved Ones forever.

Ross Perot rode a Tennessee Walker stallion and my mare Beta was one of the stallions colts. Beta sadly died at 33 years old but rode her 1/2 across my State for 21 of those years. 500 miles 2 years before she died. What a horse! Glad that Mr. Perot took that stallion as his personal riding horse....how lucky we both were! Nancy Nolf. Washington State

Ross Perot will be sorely missed by many Women throughout North America. In 1997 in the DFW Metro--Plex Ross gave me my first opportunity to develop a parcel of land. Ross also gave me an added challenge and encouraged me to sell the parcel of interest. I learned so much in a short period of time. As for my career I remain in the Real Estate and The Land Development business and I tell this great story every chance that I have. My heart goes out to the Perot Family in hopes that the passing of Ross can be a celebration for the brilliant work he achieved while here with us. I will remember Ross in all things that I do in my future and I am thankful to have crossed his path early in my career.

Ross, I cannot imagine how heaven is handling your energy up there trying to make it a better place. You must be in your element. You are my hero and you have always been. Your vision was always to problem solve, seek solutions and think out of the box. You were a straight shooter and clear in your communication. You were a great teacher and I am grateful for everything you did or tried to do. I miss your spirit already. You are now in a better position to help us politically. Go for it! Remember what you said? Lead or leave. Show them the door Ross.

My sincere condolences to the family, friends and fans of this ingenious and successful man. Though I did not personally know him, I remember his successes. God will comfort and sustain you you during this difficult time because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:6,7)

A MIGHTY OAK HAS FALLEN! Dear Perot Family, Ross was the greatest Dallasite in history. The sterling ledger of his life's work and his peerless record of philanthropy surpasses anyone who has ever lived in this city. At the request of my mother (who phoned him directly), he gave my brother, George, his first part-time college job in the early 70s -- which resulted in George's 31-year career at EDS. From then on, we were Ross Perot fans! He was a man of courage, dignity, compassion and humility. And he never stopped fighting the good fight! May our Heavenly Father ease your grief and leave only the cherished memories of his loving ways. And may the angels lead him into paradise. Your friends, Larry & Mary Ackels and The Ackels Family.

The world is a better place because of Mr. Perot's being. We were touched by a generous, caring, loving soul who I have no doubt will be organizing a ban of angels to keep a watchful, embracing presence over his dearly beloved. We were truly blessed.

To the family: You will probably never know me but I have met your Father through my cousin Josandia (Moore) Bean who worked for him at his Bermuda home. She always had a good word about Mr. Perot. More recently as she fought her battle with cancer he showed himself to be a great support and employer; helping her in so many ways. One special way I remember was when her time was not looking good he gave her some money to do something that will make her happy. She was able to visit me and my husband and we along with my cousin Wally had a wonderful time of fellowship, and sharing. We spent special moment's just chatting and reminiscing and laughing way into the morning hours. We knew that this could well be our last times together and we made the most of it and it was. But it was not all about the money that my Joey spoke of this fine man but over and over she spoke of him as a really wonderful man to work for way long before she was ever sick. She spoke of so much that she learned from him and how she admired him and helped to make her the person of integrity and compassion by observing him. She took great pleasure in preparing special meals that she knew he or some of the family would enjoy because he helped others to enjoy life also. May he rest in peace and may we learn from him even still as he has left a wonderful legacy. This world is better place because of him. I have been holding you and all those close and dear to him in prayer since learning of his passing and payer you all are able to experience the comfort of our Heavenly Father as only He can give. Mrs. Ross Perot and Family,
Mary Lou and I would like to express our sympathy for your loss.
Uppermost in our memory is the fact that Ross represented to both of us, the true spirit of patriotism. We valued the memories of the occasion when Ross spoke to the wives of fighter pilots who were either missing in action or POWs in the Vietnam War.
Academy graduates from West Point and Annapolis were invited with their wives to this ceremony at the Wright Patterson Air Force base. Rosss speech was inspirational and comforting to everyone there.
After the speech, I went forward to greet Ross, along with my wife. As soon as he had finished talking to the person ahead of me, he turned and recognized me and said, is this Mary Lou. We were impressed that he had either taken the time to find out who would be in attendance or knew Mary Lou from some dance or event in Annapolis, Either way, it was very impressive.
Over the years, since we graduated, we have followed the amazing career and accomplishments of Ross and we are proud to have known such an outstanding gentleman.
May your remembrance of the great and kind things he has done for humanity and veterans, in particular, ease your sense of loss.
Sincere sympathy.

Ross Perot is a true patriot and a true humanitarian. In the chaotic culture in which we live, Ross Perot stood out for his devotion to his family, his many good works, his insistence people do their best, and the sheer class with which he conducted himself; a unique quality in these times. Ross Perot believed in the goodness of people and inspired countless others who were the recipients of his generosity and kindness.

My Vietnam squadron mates of Helicopter Attack (Light) Squadron THREE - HA(L)-3 Seawolves received the most wonderful Welcome Home imaginable. Through the kindness of Ross Perot and his son Ross Jr. our Seawolf reunion was invited to the South Fork Ranch on September 6, 2014. Police escort, chartered buses, exceptional food, drink and entertainment was provided to our squadron in recognition of our service and our forty-four brothers who did not return. If for no other reason than recognition for our fallen brothers we were most tearfully humbled. Every Seawolf alive today will mourn the passing of our Navy brother and of his tremendous patriotism.

Our prayer is for God's merciful blessing upon the soul of Ross Perot.

I met Mr. Perot when we moved to Dallas in 1968. My father was an executive with LTV, and Ross, the Wyly's, Jimmy Ling became acquaintances of mine when I was in law school. They were all inspirational, but Mr. Perot's business acumen, philanthropy, family values, and perseverance all rolled into one - created an incredible role model. I with his family the best, and he will be missed by his friends, acquaintances, and business associates who were fortunate enough to cross paths with Mr. Perot. Dallas, Texas, and the United States are all better places because of his efforts. RIP.

To a great man and a great family my humblest sympathies. It was at the new EDS location in Plano where I first personally met Ross Perot. My car had broken down on my way out from work and he stopped to see if he could help.

EDS had a facility to fix cars at that time, so he called them and had them tow my car there. They said it would be a couple of hours, so he said come with me Craig'. He drove us to Malibu Grand Prix in Plano, where he knew the owner. He had me and him get into go-carts and we raced! I couldn't believe it.. He won! But it was the twinkle in his eye and the fact he took a personal interest in me who he didn't know that touched me. He invited me to Texas Motor Speedway several times after that to watch races (and be involved with some amateur races!) and he was somehow always doing something for somebody.

Rest in Peace Ross.. you had a big heart and ran every race with your fullest and at top speed!

Deepest condolences to the Perot family, and all you knew or were somehow touched by Ross Perot.

One anecdotal story I have is from the EDS headquarters back in the day. I was at the workout facility and trying to learn to swim. Ross Perot came to the side of the pool and asked me what I was doing, I told him and he dove in the pool and began to give me swimming lessons!! Ended up we started doing laps together every other Thursday (when he was in town)!! So whenever I hear of a story where Ross did something small for someone, I believe it! For that small thing for me was huge and I know all the small things you did for people Ross were huge for them as well RIP Ross!

Dear Ross..you were such a kind man, a fierce competitor, and had some a fire of love in your heart for your country, your family, your friends, and nobody was a stranger to you. Back in the 80's I was a systems engineer and then a salesman, but the times we played golf at Forest Lane were probably some of the funnest times I can remember. You came up to the 1st tee and I was playing by myself you asked to join, but wanted to do rock-paper-scissors to see who teed off first! You saw what a kick I got out of that and every time after that we played together we did that again. I tell this story because it illustrates what a down to earth person you were, what a great sense of humor you had, and what a love you had for people. Glad we had those several dozen or so games on EDS 9-hole golf course..but always wished you had given me a mulligan!! RIP You were and still are a treasure to many!

Ross you were my mentor for many years. I will forever cherish our occasional lunches at El Torito and later at Torchy's Tacos. Your entrepreneurial spirit maybe only surpassed by your love of God and family and country. You left an indelible mark on tens of thousands of people, but greater than that you took action for the good of others when other people who could've taken action didn't. You didn't search for recognition, but recognition found you due to the many kind, generous, entrepreneurial, and many more actions you took. I remember the last thing you told me which seems not so long ago.. 'Larry, keep one foot in front of the other foot at all times with a mission at hand..and in doing so your momentum for the good..for the growth..for the expected and unexpected will allow you to accomplish great things'. RIP my friend.

Ross Perot would have been an excellent President, that election was so disappointing. I have little doubt he would have set us on a prosperous and healthy course that couldn't be torn down.

We are all fortunate to have known and worked with one of history's occasional great humans, who have the passion, intellect, empathy, energy, persistence, and true grit to make a huge impact on humanity.
To his family and close friends, I offer my deep condolences.

Never met Mr. Ross Perot, but I loved him. I watched him read about him and knew he was the genuine article. He was a humanitarian, family man, patriot, and genius businessman. He was clever and had a good sense of humor. I especially enjoyed his voodoo stick story. We have lost a hero and Heaven gain a hero. I wish to thank the Perot family for sharing him with us the common people for so many years. I would love to see him laid to rest in our Texas State Cemetery. So that millions could pay respect to a man so many adored. Rest in peace our great American Patriot we will meet up with you on the other side, Sir.

Twenty five years ago, a caring and compassionate Ross Perot reached out to help a desperate mother whose son was missing in Hawaii. He ask what was needed an when advised he said he would be sending one of his staff to assist us. We had been advised that the search teams needed helicopters to aid with the search area in the dense jungle areas adjacent to sheer, deep drop offs. He was true to his word and provided a member of his staff who was a steadying and needed force in the search for our son. That person stayed with us and helped with the search. He lined up the heliçopters and was there representing Mr. Perot for weeks. Unfortunately while we were unable to find my son. Mr. Perot had allowed a grieving mother to know that everything possible had been done to locate him. Although I was never able to thank Mr. Perot in person, I did write thanking him for all he did. It was greatly appreciated. He touched this mother's heart with his show of kindness. Mr .Perot and his family have been in my prayers for the last twenty five years and will continue to be. Heaven has truly gained an angel with a loving and caring heart. With deepest sympathy.

With heartfelt Sympathy, I can say that Mr.Ross Perot was an Icon for many of us. In 1992, as a Small Business Owner, together with others colleagues, very involved in a political arena, we were shocked to see that a Business Legend, Mr.Ross Perot, took a step out of his business and dedicated his time running a very successful campaign with volunteers, leading the pole with high margins. We wanted to follow his lead. We did, by starting to run Election locally, even though we were fully running our small businesses. Apparently God knew that Mr.Ross Perot can do more with his Business helping people from all walk of life. So, God directed him to stay with his Business.
In 2012, when my Daughter moved to Dallas from NYC and her husband start working for him, I felt they have a new Family. They make them to always feel this way. The fact that he, personally came in 2013 and visit in a hospital my Grandson, 17 month old Lucas, who fell and suffered brain injuries, it was to be commended. He made sure we had all we need for many month we were in a hospital. His presence in our lives, It was priceless.
I wished and prayed that together with our Lucas, now , 7 yrs old, heartbroken, Special need child, we would have gone with Mr.Ross Perot to visit a great Neurologist friend he has in Europe for a second opinion. Lucas still suffer and need a lot of expensive Theraphy to get him back and we are praying for Miraculous healing for him, as we prayed for Mr.Ross for the past 6 month..
We failed to pursue so far his valuable help to go. He helped another friends's child who was treated on the path of a great recovery. I have no words of appreciations and thanks for the God's man, Mr.Ross Perot, who walk the walk and went out of his way to help many!
We will never forget your kind words, care, compassion, unconditional love and interest you and your Company took on Lucas and our Family in a hospital and thereafter. May God continue to bless your Family and give Peace to you and them, the Peace which passes all understanding : God's Peace! We will continue to pray for the Eternal life of his Soul and ask God to held Mrs.Margaret Perot and all his wonderful Families in His hands Forever! ❤

Never met Mr. Perot in person, but I loved him. I watched him and read about him and from that, I came to know him. I voted for him when he ran for president and was crushed when it didn't work out. It warms my heart to read these stories here. People from all over the United States sharing their stories. I love that we can watch clips of him on YT, he had a great sense of humor and was very clever. A Humanitarian, Patriot, Great American, Christian, and family man. Never heard anything negative about Mr. Perot. He had a great sense about economics we would have been so much better off if he had been our president. Just wanted to express my appreciation and admiration for this lovely man. I want the family to know they are all in our thoughts for the hard days and months ahead of them. We also wish to thank the family for sharing him with the rest of us all through the years.

I want to express my condolences to the family. Particularly to Ross Jr. and Sarah. They were so kind to my family when we lost our son, Granite Mountain Hot Shot/wildland firefighter, Dustin DeFord in 06/30/13. Nineteen men were killed that day, including my son. Ross Jr. and Sarah sent their ATX 737 to pick my family up in Montana, and fly us down to the memorial in Arizona, which was being put on for the 19 fallen fire fighters. We are forever grateful! We pray for God's comfort to the family in this time of sorrow.

Ross Perot was a great hometown hero in Texarkana. I was born and raised in Texarkana and knew of him my entire life, although I never had the opportunity to meet him. He did so much for the city of Texarkana and was greatly appreciated. My Sunday school teacher at Highland Park Baptist Church, Mrs. Lavonne McMurrian, was a cotton buyer for Ross Perot's daddy. Prayers for the family at this time. RIP Mr. Perot

For several years I worked for Perot Systems (before it was purchased by Dell), and I had the honor of "running into" Mr. Perot at the lunch cafeteria or in the hallways. He was always smiling, always asking about what I did for the company and so gracious. At every "hallway crossing" Mr. Perot always thanked me for helping make his company successful. He never knew my name - but I've never forgot this kind and sincere man. God Bless the Perot family.

Oh, How we loved him as the grass loves the rain, Oh how we embrace him as the branches hold the wind, life is a path defined by many truths. Mr. Perot was one of those truths to many people. He lived as he spoke, straight from his heart and soul. He gave a lot to the world and offered many folks opportunities to make their dreams come true. His leadership and straight arrow approach made my world come true. His love of God, Family and Country will always be his hall mark in the pages of history and in the souls of mankind. God bless his family and his soul. He will always be the high water mark of goodness and leadership.

What a great example of Texas entrepreneur, leader, larger than life figure yet, one who got things done with resolve, conviction and determination.
He built great companies, filled employee ranks with team players, eagles and a can do! Spirit!
He gave back to humanity in ways people will know! That was his style.
Many great stories of Mr Perot will be told. But he was a great husband, father, family man and role model!
Thank you for the years as a great example to many- myself included!

Ross Perot will be greatly missed by all who ever had the great honor to know him. He had an enormous effect on my life, and continues to, till this day. The many life lessons one attains from the the story of this incredible man's life are truly inspirational. A true patriot who tried so hard to help his country save itself from failure. Americans would do well to educate themselves by looking into what he had to say about our country and how wonderful a friend he was to those he loved. He loved his family, friends, co-workers, members of our military and the United States of America. May God bless them all, and may H. Ross Perot rest in peace. My family and I proudly salute you and are eternally greatful for the sacrifices you have made for us all. My heartfelt condolences to the family (including all at EDS) and friends. He will be remembered as a great and noble man.
