Sandra L. Ruediger

Sandra Lee (Alexander) Ruediger, 81, of Natrona Heights, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025. She was born Dec. 6, 1943, in Ellwood City, to the late Kenneth and Elizabeth (VanGorder) Alexander. Sandra was a graduate of the former Citizens Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for many years as a registered nurse at Citizens General Hospital and Allegheny Valley Hospital. Later in her career she worked as a substitute nurse for Highlands School District. Sandra was a member of Center Church of Fawn Township and a member of the former Mother's Guild. She enjoyed shopping, vacationing at the beach, going out to dinner with friends, dancing, and playing cards with her card club. Sandra was a volunteer for many years with the Burtner House Historical Society. Sandra is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard L. Ruediger; children, Mark (Tatiana "Tanya") Ruediger of West Deer and Nicole Ruediger, at home; grandchildren, Dr. Austin (Dr. Hanna) Ruediger and Matthew Ruediger; and her great-grandson, Adrian Ruediger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Matthew S. Ruediger, on March 10, 1972; brother, Clark Alexander; and sister, Beth Maricone. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday in CICHOLSKI-ZIDEK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights, 724-224-8688, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday.
