Thomas Stadterman Obituary

Thomas J. Stadterman, 85, of Level Green, died Monday, July 28, 2008. Tom was born in Turtle Creek to late Joseph L. and Mary Conroy Stadterman and also was preceded in death by brother Joseph L. Stadterman Jr. and sister Mary Flagerman. He served his country in the Navy Seabees during World War II and retired from the Union Railroad as a yardmaster in 1986 after 36 years of service. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Maxine Soster Stadterman; children, Thomas J. Jr. and wife Lynn, of Aberdeen Md., and Kathleen Knauer and husband Josh and beloved grandchildren Olivia and Adam Knauer, of Squirrel Hill; brother, Torrence and wife Marcia, of Delray Beach Fla., and sister Patricia Kettering and husband Dr. Donald, of Greensburg. Family and friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the JOHN M. DOBRINICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 702 Seventh Street (Route 130), Trafford, 412-372-3111. Parting prayers will be at 9 a.m. Friday in the funeral home, followed by funeral Mass at 9:30 in St. Regis Church, Trafford, with the Rev. James D. Tringhese as celebrant. Entombment with military honors will follow in the Good Shepherd Cemetery mausoleum, Monroeville.
