Virginia Carter Obituary

Virginia D. Carter, 72 of Wyano passed away at 3:45 pm Saturday, Jan., 18, 2025 in Independence Health System's Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Virginia was born Feb. 15, 1952, in Scott Haven , a daughter of the late John David Wood Sr. and Ella Virginia (Wolfe) Wood. She was married to Roger Lee Carter, who passed away on July 2, 2016. Virginia was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was employed for many years at Westmoreland Manor. Virginia will be sadly missed by her loving family; her son, Scott Wood and wife Kelly of Irwin; her four grandsons, Dallyn, Ethan, Keelan, and Keigen Wood; her three sisters, Kate Reagan and husband Randy, Doris Martynuska, and Johnna Young and husband Tom; her brother, John Wood Jr. and wife Amy; numerous nieces and nephews; and her loyal dogs, Dexter and Rocco. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dolly McKeel. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 SPRING STREET, SCOTTDALE (http://www.fergusonfunerals.com. In honor of Virginia's wishes, there will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, at 4 p.m. at the Sharron VFC Banquet Hall.
