Virginia Matone Obituary

Virginia G. Matone, 85, of Greensburg, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2007, in UPMC Shadyside, with her family at her side. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Charles J. "Chuck" Matone. Virginia will be greatly missed by her loving family; children, Charles Matone Jr. and wife, Louise, of Greensburg, Charlene Johns, of Greensburg, and Ginny Matone and Linda, of Pittsburgh. She will be especially missed by her grandchildren, Dr. Francis Johns Jr. and wife, Taunya, Rachele Wright and husband, Norman, Stephen Johns and wife, Judiann, and Nina and C.J. Matone; great-grandchildren, Francis, Brennan, Laney, Stephen, Justin, Colton and Nathan; and a number of nieces and nephews. Virginia will be fondly remembered as a beloved friend by everyone whose lives she touched. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, 15626. Virginia's funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Alan R. Knapp, of the Tetelestai Church, Plum Borough, officiating.
