Virginia Mae (Fletcher) Solar, 85, of Irwin, died Monday, December 8, 2025. She was born April 22, 1940 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Allan F. and Beatrice (Harvey) Fletcher and was also preceded in death by her husband Paul M. Solar and siblings Miriam "Cookie" Mattern, Allan F. Fletcher Jr., Jerry Geyer and George Fletcher. Ginny worked at Bob Evans for many years and had also worked at the former Norwin Diner. When able, she attended Word of Life Church and was active with Community Life. She enjoyed playing bingo. She is survived by her sons Jeff Solar, Kirk (Dawn) Solar, and Scott (Lori) Solar; her grandchildren Ben, Cody, Sarah, and Katie; sisters, Janice DiVito, Darlene (Ken) Laliberte, and Leslie Costelnock; also several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, December 11, at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main St., Irwin, where a funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. Private interment will be at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
