William Bolosky Obituary

William Anthony Bolosky, Ph.D., 78, of Mechanicsburg, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013. For the past two years, he was a resident of Emeritus at Creekview personal care home. He previously lived in Ijamsville, Md., and Uniontown. Bill was born Dec. 18, 1934, to the late Anthony Joseph and Ellen (Slavin) Bolosky, of Everson. He was a graduate of Scottdale High School, Wabash College, West Virginia University and the University of Pittsburgh. He worked for many years as a clinical psychologist at Centerville Clinic and at Southwest Pennsylvania Professional Health Services. He was also a professor in the Social Work department of California University of Pennsylvania for more than 25 years. Bill was an avid golfer, fisherman and Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and enjoyed spending countless hours working outside in his vegetable garden. One of his greatest joys in life was teaching his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews to fish. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol (Camp) Bolosky; and children, William J. Bolosky (Robin Wechkin), of Issaquah, Wash., and Amy (Stephen) Dengler, of Mechanicsburg; and his sisters, Sallyann Bolosky, of Everson, and Patricia (Anthony) DeRosa, of Canfield, Ohio. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Caroline, Matthew and Jack Dengler and Sam and Oliver Bolosky. In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his sisters, Lucille Kring and Theresa Miller; and his brother, Edward "Sonny" Bolosky. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at MALPEZZI FUNERAL HOME, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at St. Katharine Drexel Church in Mechanicsburg, followed directly by a committal service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
