Wilma Shimko Obituary

Wilma A. Quinn Shimko, 91, of Latrobe, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009, in Barnes House. She was born Dec. 22, 1917, in Whitney, daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Stahovic) Shugars. Wilma was a member of Holy Family Church, Latrobe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Shimko; her first husband, Leo F. Quinn Sr.; a son, Leo F. Quinn Jr.; and a daughter, Anna Mae Pochinksy. Wilma is survived by a son, Jerry P. Quinn and wife, Karen, of Greensburg; and a daughter, Dolores Rich and husband, Richard, of Latrobe; three sisters, Irene Patty, of Latrobe, Veronica Holden, of Greensburg, and Marcella Snyder, of Ligonier; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Holy Family Church, Latrobe, with the Rev. Daniel C. Mahoney as celebrant. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Latrobe. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial donations be made to the Latrobe Relay For Life American Cancer Society, 863 Geroge's Station Road, Suite 2, Greensburg, PA 15601.
