Alberta Joan Bell Hall, 73, of Saltsburg, passed away Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. She was born Feb. 6, 1938, in Saltsburg, a daughter of the late James and Myrtle Steele Bell. Before her retirement, she was employed as a teacher's aide at the Saltsburg Elementary School. Alberta was a member of the Slickville Presbyterian Church, the Golden Girls Social Club and a volunteer for the Saltsburg Free Library, where she previously was an officer on the board. Alberta had been an auditor for Loyalhanna Township for more than 30 years. She was also a former member of the SARA Recreation Board in Saltsburg. Alberta loved to cook and bake for not only her family, but everyone else. She will always be remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She was a true friend to many, and always put her family and friends ahead of herself. Her gentle nature and caring personality will never be forgotten. She is survived by her four children, Kenneth R. "Rusty" Hall and his wife, Doreen, of Blairsville, Michael J. Hall, Dave Hall and his wife, Holly, and Melissa "Missie" Hall, all of Saltsburg, and her fiance, Charles "Nip" Eckenrode, also of Saltsburg; five grandchildren, Justin, Jason, Michael, Bryan and Carly; a great-grandson, Ethan; a sister, Melissa Bell, of Saltsburg; two sisters-in-law, Diana Tamski and her husband, Rick, of Brownstown, and Sharon Brank, of Tinsmill; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth A. Hall, in 2003; a daughter in infancy; two brothers, Steele and James Bell; and three sisters, Beryl Richards, Eleanor Fillar and Louise Hall. Family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in the KELLY L. CORRIDONI FUNERAL HOME LTD., 400 Indiana Ave., Avonmore, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Tom Holmes officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
