Andrew "Drew" Alexander, 81, of Washington Township, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020, in Excela Health-Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Born June 9, 1939, in Northern Ireland, he was a son of the late Martin Alexander and Mary (Hunter) Alexander. Drew graduated from Drexel University with a degree in chemical engineering. He worked for ALCOA for two years, then went to school at the University of Toledo, where he graduated with a degree in patent law. Drew then returned to ALCOA, where he worked for 20 years, before working for another 20 self-employed in patent law. He was a member of Poke Run Presbyterian Church. Drew enjoyed riding dirt bikes with his family, and liked attending Motocross, Supercross, and Hare Scramble events. He liked fishing, working on cars and tractors, and he loved reading and writing poetry. In addition to his parents, Drew was preceded in death by his brothers, Sam and George Alexander; and his sister, Mary Beverlin. Drew is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pearl Louise (Brisbane) Alexander; sons, William (Amy) Alexander, of Washington Township, and A.J. (Colleen) Alexander, of Washington Township; daughter, Carissa Alexander, of Greensburg; grandchildren, Rowan, Liam, Caitlyn, Andrew, Philip, and Sam; sister, Catherine McKay of Scotland; and nieces and nephews. At the family's request, all services are private, and have been entrusted to the CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., Apollo.
