Anna M. Lesko

1938 - 2025

Anna Mae Lesko, 87, of Apollo, went home with the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, where she passed in St. Margaret Hospital, Pittsburgh, with her family by her side. Born Feb. 14, 1938, in Freeport, she is the daughter of the late Stanley and Mildred (Lepkowski) Olczak. Anna Mae had been employed by AHN as an emergency room nurse prior to retiring in 1994 after 35 years of employment. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in East Vandergrift and had been a volunteer with St. Vincent de Paul in Apollo, enjoyed helping with various local food banks, and made rosaries for various missions. Anna Mae was an avid sports fan; she enjoyed watching NASCAR and the Steelers on TV along with spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Susan (Ken) Fortner of Clifton, VA, John Lesko (Joanne Bowser) of Apollo, and Amy Lesko (Gary Nessler) of Apollo. Four grandchildren: Jared Fortner, Adam Fortner, Andrew Lesko, and Nicole Deemer. Two sisters, Helen King of Bonneau, SC, and Millie Phillippi of Sarver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Lesko, in 2001; two sisters, Maryann Hoffman and Cathy Dombroski; and a brother, Frank Olczak. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Dec. 8, 2025, in DUNMIRE-KERR & ROWE FUNERAL HOME INC., 244 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025, in Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in East Vandergrift with Fr. Vincent Zidek as Celebrant.
