Betty M. Smouse

Betty Marie (Montgomery) Smouse, 88, of New Kensington, passed away Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025, in her daughter's home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 25, 1937, in Reynoldsville, near Punxsutawney, to the late John and Naomi Henry Montgomery. Betty enjoyed baking, cooking, and crocheting and was known for her spaghetti and meatballs. She loved spending time with her family and found great joy in people and entertaining. Betty attended Allegheny Valley Church of God, New Kensington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Smouse Sr.; daughter, Carol Lynn Lindemuth; siblings, Tom, Sam, Jack, Bobby, Jean, and Shirley, who were twins; and grandson, Scott Gregoire. Betty is survived by her children, Joyce Newman, Charlene (Daniel) Gregoire, with whom she made her home, and Charles E. Smouse; siblings, Virginia (Calvin) Fisk, Helen Swegard, and Richard Montgomery; son-in-law, Roy Lindemuth; grandchildren, Shannon Singleton, Holly Livingston, Danielle Gregoire, Tori Spreng, Katie Smouse, and CJ Smouse; and great-grandchildren, Jayden, Adrionna, Derica, Keanu, Kyra, and Max. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2025, in JOSEPH J. CARDARO FUNERAL HOME, 1125 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, 724-337-3325.
