Carol M. Alberts, 78, of Monessen, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, in Encompass Health and Rehabilitation Hospital of Harmarville. She was born Dec. 15, 1946, in Minneapolis, MN, a daughter of the late John and Susan (Brinda) Michalov. Prior to retirement, she had worked as a certified surgical technician in various hospitals across the country and was a member of the Association of Surgical Technicians. She had also taught surgical technician classes at Westmoreland County Community College and worked for the Orthodox Campus Ministry Department of Education. She had also cooked for the Orthodox Seminary and the Archdiocese. Carol was a member of St. Michael's Orthodox Christian Church, Greensburg. She was a member of the Antiochian Women's Group and taught Sunday School. She enjoyed teaching arts and crafts at Antiochian Summer Camp. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Fr. George A. Alberts; her son, David Alberts (Anna); two daughters, Christina Alberts-Surdyn (Jeff) and Sarah Goldie (Christopher); six grandchildren, Damien, Jacob, Noah, Morgana, Penelope, and Illeana; her brother, Charles Michalov; her sister, Cheryl Andrew (Jonah); her brother-in-law, Michael Andrews (Mary); and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, at St. Michael's Orthodox Christian Church, 1182 Ashland St., Greensburg, PA 15601. Trisagion prayers will begin at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, in church. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, in the church with Archpriest David Hyatt and His Grace Bishop Thomas (Joseph) officiating.
