Carol J. Bowser

1934 - 2022

Carol J. (Martin) Baustert Bowser, 87, of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., formerly a resident of North Apollo, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022, in Danbury Parkside Village, Westerville, Ohio, where she resided the past two years. She was born June 3, 1934, in Apollo, to Clinton Martin and Henrietta Martin Finnegan. Carol grew up in the Apollo area and graduated from Apollo High School. After raising her family, she moved to Jacksonville Beach and lived there for more than 30 years, and during that time was employed at Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, operating the gift shop, which fit perfectly with her love of shopping. She attended St. Andrews Lutheran Church, and avidly walked on the beach through the years. Above all, she enjoyed the family visits to her beach house and traveling to Pennsylvania in the summers and holidays to spend time with the extended family, which she loved dearly. Carol is survived by Wayne Baustert, of Apollo; her children, Cindy (Jim) Clowes, of Westerville, Ohio, Eric (Kim Miller) Baustert, of Apollo, David (Meredith) Baustert, of Irwin, and Scott (Ashley) Baustert, of Madisonville, La.; grandchildren, Lauren Clowes, Andrew Clowes, David Baustert Jr., Kaelyn Baustert, Aiden Baustert, Brady Baustert, Madison Brooks and Matt Shrum; and sisters, Dorothy Lookabaugh and Gail Pugh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband, William F. Bowser. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022, at the Kiski Valley Assembly of God, with the Rev. Todd Pugh, (Carol's nephew), officiating.
