Carol Yanok Obituary

Carol Ann (Confer) Yanok, of New Kensington, passed away on Oct. 18, 2025. She was born on July 18, 1938. She worked at the University of Pittsburgh for many years and retired after all three of her daughters graduated from the school. Carol is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Mark) Marusko, Mary Balich, and Catherine "Kate" (Roger) Acker. She leaves behind 12 cherished grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Kathleen (Kathy) Fields; her brother, Craig J. Confer (Donis); and nieces and nephews whom she loved deeply. She was preceded in death by her husband, George P. Yanok; and her brother, Kenneth J. Confer. Carol was the beloved daughter of the late James and Doris (Friel) Confer. Her life was a testament to the love she shared with her family and friends. Carol's memory will continue to inspire and comfort those who knew her. She lived by the simple but powerful principle: "Treat others as you would like to be treated." Carol was lovingly cared for at home by Gateway Hospice and a team of workers. Her family will be forever grateful for each of the amazing caregivers. At Carol's request, there will be no public visitation. All services will be private. Donations can be made to Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley in New Kensington in memory of Carol Yanok. https://www.animalprotectors.net/donations.html
