Born May 10, 1929, in Natrona, Harrison, he lived in the Valley all his life.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Jonczak was a 1947 graduate of Har-Brack High School and attended Indiana Technical College.
He worked at Allegheny Ludlum, Brackenridge, and later Oberg Manufacturing Co., Buffalo Township, for 15 years.
Mr. Jonczak was co-founder and vice-president of Composidie, Washington Township, since 1971, and chief executive officer of Natures Blend wood products, Ford City.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, Knights of Columbus and American Legion, all in Harrison, New Kensington Musical Society, past president and member of the Society of Carbide Engineers, founder, past president and member of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Tooling and Machining Association. He also was a former member of the Fawn Zoning Board.
Mr. Jonczak enjoyed polka music, was an avid golfer, bowler and woodworker, and was a drummer in many local dance bands.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Margaret A. Golier Jonczak; two sons, Chester (Kathleen) Jonczak and Timothy Jonczak, both of Harrison; two daughters, Mary Margaret (Gene) Lattus and Suzanne M. Rapp, both of Harrison; two brothers, Daniel (Joanne) Jonczak of Sarver and Edward (Evelyn) Jonczak of Verona; and a sister, Mary Ann (Charles) Kozel of Springdale.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Gene, Adam, Julie and Rosemary Lattus, Chester Adam and Elizabeth Anne Jonczak, Chad Rapp, and Nicole, Timothy Jr. and Christopher Jonczak; a great-grandchild, Noah Bianco; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Jonczak.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Helen Persinski Jonczak; and a brother, Raymond Jonczak.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m Wednesday and Thursday in the CICHOLSKI-ZIDEK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights. Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish. Burial will be in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer. The Knights of Columbus will have services at 7 p.m. Thursday, followed by the American Legion at 7:15, both in the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus Charity Fund, in care of the family.
