Daniel Nemet Obituary

Daniel A. Nemet, 76, formerly of New Kensington, passed away Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at Homeland Center in Harrisburg. Born Feb. 19, 1936, in New Kensington, he was the son of the late Daniel A. Nemet and Anna (Ferri) Nemet Schaefer, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Marie (Marziale) Nemet, who passed away in 2004, after 38 years of marriage. Daniel was an Army veteran who was stationed in Fort Lewis, Wash., and an auto mechanic for 38 years, working at Firestone Tire Co. for 10 years. He also enjoyed working at Fox Chapel Golf Club, before retiring in 2004. Daniel was member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in New Kensington. During his retirement, he enjoyed fishing, traveling, hunting, coin collecting and spending time with his family and friends. Surviving is his daughter, Lucinda J. Nemet, of Harrisburg; one brother, Andrew (Roseanna) Nemet Sr., of Sarver; one sister, Judith (George) Uhler, of New Kensington; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at Homeland Center and burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Contributions may be made in his memory to Homeland Center Endowment Fund, 1901 N. Fifth St., Harrisburg, PA 17102; or the Humane Society of Greater Harrisburg, 7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111. KIMMEL FUNERAL HOME, Harrisburg, is handling arrangements.
