David A. Allison

David A. Allison, 74, of Bethel Park, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Juanita for 50 years; loving father of Jerry (Kristin) and Ted; proud grandfather of Samantha and Erin; caring brother of Jim (the late Rhoda), John (Ruth), Howard (Charlotte), Sam (Sonja), Charles, Ralph (the late Bonnie), Jane (Tom) Gilmore, Mary (the late Bob) Bowers, Sue (Ron) Zola, Edna (the late Stan) Weissman, the late Ann (Ed) Stanley and Bill (Lynn); son of the late W. Leroy and Elizabeth Hazlett Allison. He is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews. David received his undergraduate degree at Penn State University and his Ph.D. in chemistry at Iowa State University. He also studied under the Nobel Prize-winning physicist Kai Siegbahn in Sweden. He continued his research at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. David was retired as a chemist after more than 33 years with Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, and received patents through his research and inventions. After retirement, David enjoyed playing duplicate bridge at local clubs and had a large interest in researching his family history. He also loved spending time at the family farm, and most of all spending time with his family, playing games or picking berries with his granddaughters. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
