David Cader Obituary

David S. Cader, 65, of Leechburg, died early Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Jefferson Township. Born Oct. 24, 1947, in Natrona Heights, he was a son of the late Joseph Steven Cader Sr. and Mary Ann (Safranyos) Cader. Mr. Cader was a Viet Nam War veteran, having served with the Marine Corps. A member of Christ the King Parish in Gilpin Township, he served there as a Eucharistic Minister. Dave was a PIAA basketball official for many years; he also was the coach for Leechburg Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) teams for 25 years. Recognized for his athletic experience, he was inducted into the Armstrong County Sports Hall of Fame and the Leechburg Hall of Fame. Mr. Cader is survived by his wife of 36 years, Dolores J. (Becker) Cader; and a brother, Joseph S. Cader Jr., of Parks Township. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Cader, and a sister, Suzanne M. Cader. To honor the request of his family, there was no public visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by his pastor, the Rev. Joseph V. Trupkovich, at the convenience of his family in Christ the King Parish, Gilpin Township. Interment, with full military honors presented by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard, followed in St. Catherine Cemetery, Gilpin.
