David A. Laska

1954 - 2022

David Arthur Laska, 68, of Vandergrift, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, in his home. He was born April 11, 1954, in Apollo, to the late Arpad and Flora "Flossie" Gillam Laska. Dave was a graduate of Kiski Area High School and then was a truck driver for Paul Riggle and Sons Trucking. He was known by many as Santa Claus and was a member of Union Presbyterian Church. He was an avid fisherman. Dave was also known to be allergic to dust and women. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Priscilla Young. Dave is survived by his children, Steve (Jocelyn) Yoho, Amy (Miles) Buterbaugh and Andrea (Mark) Diehm; brothers, Daniel Laska and Donald Dickson; and grandchildren, Gianni, Payton, Baxter, Emmi, Adelin and Braelyn. Family and friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022, in the JOSEPH J. CARDARO FUNERAL HOME, 1125 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, 724-337-3325. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. immediately following the visitation in the funeral home with Pastor Dean Ward officiating.
