David Popovich Obituary

David Gregory Popovich, 53, of Lake in the Hills, Ill., formerly of New Kensington, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018, as the result of a tragic motor vehicle accident. He was born in Natrona Heights on Sept. 6, 1965, to Agnes M. Hollan Popovich, of New Kensington, and the late Air Force Lt. Col. Lawrence J. Popovich. After graduating from Valley High School, David attended the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. Upon graduation, he went on to work as an aircraft engineer. He enjoyed working on cars and aircraft, car racing, and dirt biking with his children. Above all else, he especially enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 25 years, Dana Elliott Popovich; children, Allison R., Jake R. and Jackson L.; brothers, John and Tim (Roseanne) Popovich; sisters, Mary Popovich, Suzy Celender, Laura Popovich, Amy (James) Seguiti and Ellen Popovich (Rick Williams); and nieces and nephews, Bobby, Sara, JohnPaul, Maria, Elizabeth, Mark, Alea, Jaclyn, Christopher, Emily, Jessica, Nichole, Ashley, Blaine, Sam and Cameron. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mark S. Popovich.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at THE RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder Street, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Vernon School......and Ellen in tennis......and my husband's family lived right behind....and helped and knew Grace Burley...my husband's mother was a Burley......so we knew the Popovichs from different sides...a wonderful family....who has shared so much sadness.....May God Bless All of you....in this time of grief..
