David St Clair Obituary

David Melvin St Clair, 84, of Leechburg, passed away Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, after a brave battle with cancer. David was born March 15, 1929, in Leechburg, to Gertrude and Edward St Clair, and was preceded in death by his mother, father and two sisters, Mildred Wolfe (Victor) and Cecelia May Linser (Hank). David is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruth Susanne Zuber St Clair, whom he met in Ladenburg, Germany, while serving as a private first class in the Army. David had five children, Harry Jaworskyj (Sharon), of Kiski Township, Elvira Kordella (Joseph), of Winchester, Va., William St Clair, of Gilpin Township, Charles St Clair, of Vandergrift, and his youngest daughter, Elizabeth Coutch, of Gilpin Township, who passed away Feb. 16, 2013. David had five grandchildren, Daniel Jaworskyj (Brenda), Shad Jaworskyj (Natalie) and Samuel Jaworskyj (Kalene), all of Kiski Township, Christopher Coutch (Stacey), of Gilpin Township, and Bethany Casto (Daniel), of Vienna, Va.; and five great-grandchildren, Lyndsay, Rachel, Samuel and Tyler Jaworskyj, all of Kiski Township, and Alexander Coutch, of Gilpin Township. David worked for Allegheny Ludlum Steel, Brackenridge, for 45 years as a shipper, and was a member of the United Steelworkers of America. David was a member of VFW Post 92. He loved to hunt, do wood crafts and travel in the U.S. and abroad. He gardened, read avidly, played bingo in the Leechburg community and enjoyed watching westerns. He also loved his dogs that he raised over the years recently, Sheba, Greta and Chili. Per request by the family, there will be no viewing or visitation. A private memorial service for family and friends will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Gilpin Township, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Orphans of the Storm, P.O. Box 838, Kittanning, PA 16201. Funeral arrangements have been made by Ball Funeral Chapel, Pittsburgh. http://www.ballfc.com.
