Diane E. Papaila

Diane E. (Farkas) Papaila, 87, of Kiski Township, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025, at Embassy of Saxonburg. Born July 16, 1938, in Wilkinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Gabor and Rose (Leprech) Farkas. Diane was a graduate of Turtle Creek High School class of 1956 and earned an associate degree in secretarial engineering from Point Park College in 1958. She was employed by Gulf Research and Development Company, Harmarville, as an executive secretary for 30 years until her retirement in 1986. Diane was a member of Apollo First Lutheran Church, where she was in the Altar Guild, a greeter, and an usher. She was the secretary of Gulf Credit Union and their retirees association for several years. Diane loved gardening and her black lab, Dobi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Papaila, who passed away on May 27, 2011. She is survived by her son, Darren (Charmin) Papaila of Kiski Township; grandson, Brayden (Elizabeth) Papaila of Kiski Township; siblings, Norma Burlando, Glenn, and Dale Farkas; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, in CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, in the funeral home, with Pastor Caroline Clifford officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
