Dianna J. Rumbaugh

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Dianna Jean Rumbaugh, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025, at Forbes Hospital at the age of 75. Dianna was the beloved wife of Barry Rumbaugh for 56 years. She was also the proud and loving mother of Daran Rumbaugh (Lisa) and Tawnya Frain (Bill). She adored her grandchildren, Alexander, Michael, and Eli, and held close in her heart the memory of her late grandson, Billy. Born in 1950 and raised on Kepple Hill in Vandergrift, Dianna was preceded in her death by her parents, Frances and Paul Munko, who instilled in her the values of kindness, resilience, and integrity that carried throughout her life. Dianna created memories with four siblings: Gary Munko, the late Paul Munko, Laura Thomas, and the late Linda Beck. Dianna dedicated many meaningful years of service to Penn State New Kensington, where she was admired for her dedication and compassion to all her colleagues. She also spent several years working at Kiski Prep School as assistant to the dean. In addition to her professional work, she was an active volunteer with the Avonmore Community Association, led the planning and execution of the Avonmore Festival, and was elected to Avonmore Town Council. Dianna was a strong political advocate, supporting and becoming close friends with Pennsylvania State Representative Petrarca and Pennsylvania State Senator Stapleton while passionately contributing to discussions and efforts to help to shape her community. On the weekends, Dianna enjoyed car rides with Barry while looking for yard sales, taking trips to her family camp, and collecting antiques, unique clocks, and elephant statues. She will be remembered for her warm spirit, her unwavering love and support for her family, her quiet strength, her positive outlook, and her drive to stand up for what was right no matter what the challenge. Dianna found her greatest joy in time spent with those she loved whether playing with her grandchildren, gathering for family dinners, or offering a listening ear and kind words to friends and neighbors. All are welcome from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 27, 2025, at CORRIDONI FUNERAL SERVICES INC., 400 Indiana Ave., Avonmore, PA. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Keith McCutcheon officiating. There will be a private burial next to Dianna's grandson, William Leroy Frain III, at the Westview Cemetery in Avonmore, PA.
