Dolores J. Sosovicka

1935 - 2017

Dolores "Dolly" J. (Smid) Sosovicka, 81, of Springdale, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, at Harmar Village. She was born on Dec. 10, 1935, in Rahway, N.J. to the late Charles and Elizabeth Smid. After graduating high school, Dolly went on to work for Westinghouse/Curtiss Wright as a secretary until she retired in 1994. Dolly was a gentle soul whose greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Robert Potts, of Springdale; her three daughters, Linda (Glenn) Brown, of Wake Forest, N.C., Lori Land, of Cheswick and Lisa Potts, of Springdale; and her grandchildren, Joel (Cole) Land, Micah and Moriah Land, Faith and Chris Carney and David Brown; as well as her great-grandchild, Rosette. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Sosovicka; her grandson, Nathanael Land; and three sisters, Betty Inklovich, Dorothy Clancy and Frances Becker.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, in Chewsick at the CHARLES B. JARVIE FUNERAL HOME INC., 1607 Pittsburgh St., where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday morning, with burial to follow in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery Frazer Township.
