Donna R. Schreckengost

Donna Rae (Leach) Schreckengost, 85, of New Holland, formerly of New Kensington, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025. She was born in New Kensington on May 25, 1940, to the late James Ray and Cecilia Emma Daniels Leach. Mrs. Schreckengost was an elementary school teacher at New Kensington Elementary School for eight years and worked at The Quilt Shop at Miller's in Ronks for 19 years. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Frederick, MD, and a member of the handbell choir, participating in two national festivals. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Red Rose Quilt Guild. She was avid in sewing and enjoyed quilting, cross-stitching, reading, and watching women's college basketball, especially U-Conn. She is survived by her daughter, Becky Schreckengost of Frederick, MD; son, Kurt (Kacey) Schreckengost of Hampton, NJ; grandsons, Conor and Cameron Schreckengost; brother, Daniel (Dee) Leach of Elizabethtown; nieces and nephews, Harliegh and Kyle (Kaitlin) Leach; and five great-nieces and -nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Franklyn Schreckengost. Graveside services will be held at noon, Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, in Union Cemetery, Arnold.
