Earl W. Jones

1941 - 2025

Earl Wilmer Jones, 84, of Greensburg, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025. He was born Aug. 7, 1941, in Braddock, a son of the late Wilmer Frank Jones and Ruth Hench Jones. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, David Jones; a sister, JoAnn Ruth Genchur; and a brother, Allison Jones. He is survived by his partner of over 30 years, Paula Kramer, of Greensburg; children, Earl Jones Jr. of Vandergrift, Debbie Jones of Plum, and Jason Jones of Monroeville; two stepsons, Michael Genchur of Monroeville and Mark Genchur of Mechanicsburg; brothers, Eric Jones (Linda) of East Pittsburgh and Gary Jones of Medina, OH; sisters, Claudia (Mark) Wolfson of Murrysville and Candice (Frank Colella) Jones of Delmont; and four grandchildren. Earl owned U.S. Van Lines moving company and was in the moving business for over 50 years. In later years, he also owned Piano Moving by Jason. He enjoyed a challenge and was very mechanical. He could fix just about anything. He loved tracing his family genealogy (his mother was of Cherokee Indian descent); playing the drums and listening to jazz in his home music studio; racing his Camaro sports car at the New Alexandria racetrack; and being on his boat at Raystown Lake and enjoying camp life. He had many dogs and cats that he loved throughout his life. He was a Mason of the Kiskiminetas Lodge #617 and a Knight Templar. A gathering to celebrate Earl's life will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, at BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 East Pittsburgh St., Greensburg.
