Edith Wtorkiewicz Obituary

Edith (Antrilli) Wtorkiewicz, 88, born April 24, 1937, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Dec. 5, 2025. Edith was the devoted wife of the late Valentine Wtorkiewicz, with whom she shared 60 years of a loving, joyful marriage. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised six children: Mary Free and her husband, Jerry; Dolores "Dee Dee" Patton and her husband, Rick; Anthony Wtorkiewicz; Valerie McCarthy and her husband, John; Theresa Arnold; and Valentine Wtorkiewicz Jr. A proud graduate of Braddock High School, Edith began her career as a switchboard operator at Westinghouse Electric in Dravosburg. She later found her true calling at Scozio's Bakery, where she worked for the majority of her life until her retirement. Edith was a dedicated member of Saint Agnes Church, the Christian Mothers Association, and the Emerald Club. She had a heart for crafting, crocheting, cooking, and watching movies always best enjoyed with a cozy blanket and a bowl of popcorn. Whether she was whipping up a family feast, creating something beautiful with her hands, or laughing at a classic comedy, she brought joy to every moment. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and the comforting aroma of her delicious dishes. As her family lovingly said, if you left her house hungry, that was entirely your fault. One of nine children, Edith came from a large and lively family who helped shape her spirited personality. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Helen Cologrande, Joseph Antrilli, Virginia Rich, Albert Greco, and Francis Greco. She is survived by siblings Rosemary Burkovich, Hilda Connolly, and Dennis Antrilli. Their bond was strong filled with love, laughter, and just the right amount of playful teasing. Edith is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her tremendous pride and joy. She was well-known for spoiling them with love, sweets, and the occasional "don't tell your parents" treat. Edie had a wonderfully silly and sarcastic side that will remain forever cherished by those who knew her. Even on the worst days, she had a gift for making others smile often with a perfectly timed quip or a lovingly mischievous grin. Her favorite emotion was laughter through tears, and she made sure her family experienced it often. Her humor, her hugs, and her incredible heart will be missed more than words can express. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., 805 Pennsylvania Ave., Irwin, PA 15642. Parting Prayers will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Saint Agnes Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Penn Lincoln Cemetery.
