Elmer Carson

Elmer Carson, 80, of Sligo, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025. He was a son of the late Henry B. and Alice (Gromley) Carson. Elmer served in the US Army stationed in Germany. He was a welder by trade and worked at the former Union Spring in New Kensington prior to closing in 1983. After that, Elmer went on to work at Dura-Bond in Export prior to retiring in 2007. Elmer's hobbies were racing motorcycles and building street rods with his best friend, Robert Robinson. Besides his parents, Elmer was preceded in death by his siblings, Barney Gromley, James Carson, Alice "Marie" Carson, Henry "Ben" Carson Jr., and Robert (Connie) Carson. He is survived by his sister, Janet (Robert) Bentley of Upper Burrell; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, in FRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME INC., Robert P.
