Frank Verchuck Obituary

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Frank 'Poop' Verchuck, who passed away on Feb. 8, 2025, at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on May 25, 1943, in Crabtree, a son of the late Frank Verchuck, Sr. and Mary (D'Aniello) Verchuck. He was a member of Holy Family Church and a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Poop worked in the asphalt industry most of his life, even owning his own business for a time. However, his true love was restoring and working on cars. He had a true gift for this and spent countless hours in his beloved garage. Lots of beer was drunk in that garage as friends and family would stop by on a daily basis just to chat and visit with Poop. He also loved going to the casino, although he had very few fruitful trips. You knew he was losing when you saw him walking around swinging his Players Card. Never a good sign. In addition to his parents, Poop was preceded in death by his in-laws, George and Helen Marinchak; one sister, Andrea Yost; and two brothers-in-law, Joseph Baca, and George Marinchak. He is survived by his wife, Elaine (Marinchak) Verchuck, who was the love of his life. Although they were married nearly 58 years, they still held hands and NEVER went anywhere without each other. He is also survived by four beloved children, Frank Verchuck, Jeanne (David) Gruss, Janice (Brandon) Antus, and Lisa (Chris) Kurek; six grandchildren, Nathan and Joshua Verchuck, Zach and Nicholas Antus, and Olivia and Max Kurek. They all loved their 'Pap Poop' and will miss him dearly. He is also survived by one sister, Mary Baca; one brother-in-law, Roy Yost; and one sister-in-law, Bernadette Marinchak, as well as many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind two of his closest friends, John and Lance, who cared deeply for Poop and spent numerous hours talking cars, cars, cars. Lastly, the family would like to thank Dr. Kassir and the staff at Fresenius Kidney Care who took such good care of 'Frankie' during dialysis, especially Brenda, Justin, Crystal, CeCe, and Michelle. Their compassion and care for Poop over the last 3 1/2 years was greatly appreciated. At Poop's request, there will be no public visitation, but a Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025, at Holy Family Church, Latrobe, at 12 noon with Fr. George Saletrik as celebrant. EVERYONE IS ASKED TO GO TO THE CHURCH. FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650, entrusted with arrangements. Interment will be private. Rip Poop. You were a great guy. Whenever I look up in the sky and see a big cloud I know it's you doing a burnout in your old Firebird

Poop was a great friend to my brother Tom and also worked for Tom for a time . Then when I went into the auto parts business at Napa I would see him pretty often to say the lease he was always working on or fixing a car . He was always smiling and cracking jokes. He will be missed tremendously. Sending the deepest condolences to poops family .
