Mr. Cannon served in World War II in the Army Air Forces.
A member of St. Paul Baptist Church in Oakmont where he was a trustee, he enjoyed fixing things and baseball. Mr. Cannon played with semi-pro players.
He was the beloved husband of 56 years of Lois Johnson Cannon; beloved father of Marilyn Sweatt of Maryland, Gilbert (Vanessa) Cannon Jr. of Monroeville, Bryan (Debbie) Cannon of Penn Hills, and Cynthia Cannon of Monroeville; and brother of Yvonne (Robert) Cannon Stewart Wagner of Norwalk, Ohio; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Albert Cannon Jr. and Jerome Cannon; and two sisters, Rosalie McGill and Mary Alice Osborne.
Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Baptist Church, Second at Delaware Street, Oakmont, where services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Morgan Reynolds will officiate. Interment will be in Restland Memorial Park, Monroeville. Arrangements entrusted to BURKET - TRUBY FUNERAL HOME INC., Oakmont.
