Henry Louden Obituary

Henry J. Louden, 86, of Parks Township, died Tuesday, May 12, 2009, in Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. He was born Feb. 15, 1923, in Parks Township, a son of the late Henry W. and Bessie L. (Bish) Louden, and had lived in Parks Township most of his life. He was a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church. Prior to retiring in 1983, he had been employed by Allegheny Ludlum Steel, West Leechburg, in the maintenance department as a laborer. A World War II veteran, he served in the Army as a corporal. He also was a member of Parks Township Volunteer Fire Department and American Legion, Kiski Township. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twins, Joan and Joseph Louden, at birth; four brothers, Vernon L. Louden, Homer S. Louden, Thomas Louden and Perry Louden; and four sisters, Mary Hansen, Hattie Livengood, Flora Mae Louden and Betty Troup. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Anna Jane (Klingensmith) Louden, of Parks Township; three sons, Ronald (Marsha) Louden, of Virginia, Donald Louden, of Florida, and Douglas (Dana) Louden, of Parks Township; a daughter, Janet Cherney, of Elyria, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bertha (James) Reichenbaugh, of Parks Township. Visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Michael Lutheran Church, Ford City, with Pastor April Dailey and Vicar Lauren Wegner co-officiating.
