James Stull Obituary

James H. Stull, 95, of Marshall Township, formerly of Allegheny Township, passed away Friday, April 3, 2015, in the Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford. Born Dec. 2, 1919, in Leechburg, he was a son of the late Stanley and Rebecca (Fryer) Stull. James grew up in Hyde Park and lived in Allegheny Township most of his adult life. He was a graduate of Leechburg High School and was a World War II veteran having served with the Navy, stationed in Pearl Harbor with the South Pacific Fleet. He retired in 1983 from the Hyde Park Foundry where he was a machinist in the machine shop. James was a 50-year member of the former Graystone Presbyterian Church, now Crossroads Community Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder and deacon. He was also a member of the Kiskiminetas Masonic Lodge No. 617 and Shriners of Pittsburgh. He loved to travel and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. James enjoyed watching any type of sport and spending time with his granddaughters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Reichenbach) Stull; son-in-law, Edward Ryan; and stepmother, Agnes Stull. James is survived by his children, Pamela (Michael) Piole, of South Park, and Linda Ryan, of Marshall Township; granddaughters, Michelle Piole, of St. Louis, Mo.; Allison Piole, of South Park; brothers, Fred Stull, of Riverview, Mich., and Stanley Stull, of Lincoln Park, Mich.; and sisters, Betty Smith, of Wyandotte, Mich., and Diane Sedliar, of Lincoln Park. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2015, in the CURRAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 300 Market St., Leechburg. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015, in Crossroads Community Presbyterian Church, 271 Main St., Leechburg, PA 15656, with the Rev. Gary Lyon officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Allegheny Township, where full military honors will be accorded by the Armstrong County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in James' memory to Good Samaritan Hospice of Pittsburgh, 3500 Brooktree Road, Suite 200, Wexford, PA 15090 or Crossroads Community Presbyterian Church at the address above.
