John Nigra Obituary

John J. Nigra, 89, of Hyde Park, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at West Haven Manor, Washington Township. He was born Oct. 25, 1921, in Hyde Park, a son of the late Joseph Nigra and Mary (Zana) Nigra. He was employed as a die setter by Abex Manufacturing Co. in Hammond, Ind., retiring in 1983, with 40 years of service. He was a member of Christ the King Parish in Leechburg and former member of the Loyal Order of Moose. He was an honorary member of the Hyde Park Volunteer Fire Department and attended Leechburg High School. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death two sisters, Lucy Nigra, who died in 2006, and Sylvia Nigra, who died in 2010. He is survived by two sisters, Frances J. Nigra, of Hyde Park, and Mary Nigra, of Hyde Park. Friends will be welcomed by his family from noon until the time of parting prayers of transfer at 1 p.m. Thursday in CLAWSONS, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051, followed by Christian Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. in Christ the King Parish, Leechburg, with the Rev.
