Joseph R. DiGiacobbe

Joseph R. DiGiacobbe, 57, of Freeport, passed away in the company of his family on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Joe was born in Natrona Heights, on August 20, 1966, a son of the late Rosetta May (Cornman) and Luigi W. DiGiacobbe. Joe was a 1984 graduate of Freeport Area High School. He worked for a number of years at Daily's Juice Products in Verona. Joe's favorite passion was playing his drums. He loved hunting and exploring the outdoors. As a youngster, Joe enjoyed riding horses with his sister Cynthia (Sis), especially Duke. He enjoyed collecting Indian, Wolf and John Wayne memorabilia. Growing up, he was a Cub Scout, Boy Scout and played football and baseball. He was an avid Steelers and Penguins fan. He was a member of the Freeport Library, Freeport Vets, and the Outdoor Life Lodge in Fawn Twp. Joe enjoyed his two loving cats, Kitty and Blackjack, and babysitting his favorite doggy, Carter, for brother Rocky. Joe is survived by his four siblings, Dino and Jeanne DiGiacobbe, of Buffalo Twp., Bruce and Carol DiGiacobbe of Buffalo Twp., Rocky DiGiacobbe of Freeport and Cynthia and Edward Burd of Columbus, Michigan. Joe especially loved his nieces and nephews; Dominic, Antonio, Nico, Mia, Codey, Kimberly, Allie, Abbey, Aiden, Shauna, Brandon and Christopher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his parents and brother, Luigi "Chip" DiGiacobbe, Jr. Family and friends will be received on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 High Street in Freeport, PA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 10 am in the funeral home with Pastor Robert Linhart, officiating. Burial will be held in the McVille Union Cemetery.
