Julia Mazzocco Obituary

Julia (Julius) Mazzocco, 82, of Leechburg, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, in her home. She was born Oct. 10, 1926, in Gilpin Township, a daughter of the late William and Susan (Toth) Julius. She lived in Gilpin Township and then in Leechburg for many years. She was a homemaker. She was a lifetime member of the Marconi Ladies Auxiliary in Leechburg, Christ the King Parish in Leechburg and served on the Parish Council. She was a Girl Scout troop leader, in the Hungarian Dance Troupe and enjoyed going to sporting events. Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Alfonso P. "Fonzy" Mazzocco, on Jan. 17, 2001; an infant sister; two sisters, Margaret Rock and Helen Anto; two brothers, William Julius Jr. and Frank Julius; and son-in-law, Louis J. Meidus Jr. She is survived by two daughters, Donna J. (Steve) Laich, of Leechburg, and Angela M. Meidus, of West Leechburg; grandsons, Matthew and Ryan Jagodrinski, of Leechburg, and Alfonso and Stephen Meidus, of West Leechburg; also many nieces and nephews. Visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the CURRAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 300 Market St., Leechburg, PA 15656. Service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Christ the King Parish, Leechburg, with Father Joseph Trupkovich officiating. Burial in St. Catherine Cemetery, Gilpin Township.
