Linda Thompson Obituary

Linda Lou Thompson, 72, of Butler, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born on March 3, 1953, inHarrison Township, to the late Louis D. and Helen (Hilty) Grove. Linda spent most of her life in Tarentum and Jefferson Township. Linda had a rewarding career as a dental assistant, working at the VA in Butler for 20 years, as well as with Dr. Mosso and Dr. Mattioli in Natrona Heights. She was a devoted member of First Christian Church in Tarentum. Linda was a proud 1971 graduate of Highlands High School and attended Forbes Trail for dental assisting. In her free time, Linda found joy in the company of her pets, the relaxation of beach vacations, and the thrill of water skiing in her younger years. Above all, Linda cherished her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her beloved husband of 53 years, Robert D. Thompson; her children, Christopher L. (Tina) Thompson of Gilpin Twp., Nicole Renee(Michael) Azzarello of Clay Twp., and Erik S. (Amber) Thompson of Wauwatosa, WI; as well as her grandchildren Karmyn Thompson, Christopher Massari, Nicholas Galczynski, Samantha (Donny) Dittmer, Mikey Azzarello, Tessa Thompson, Dayton Thompson, and Julia (Kyle)Mohney. Linda also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Myla and Holt Dittmer, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her sisters, Nancy Friday and Patti Porter. A private service and celebration of life will be held at a later date. I am so sorry to hear this sad news. Linda and I were best friends in junior high school. We always had a great time and made many good memories together. Linda will forever live in my heart!

I am so sorry to hear this. Linda and I were in the same class at First Ward from 1st grade through 6th grade, plus we both went to First Presbyterian Church during those years and high school as well.

I met Linda while working at Dr. Mosso´s office. She made work & learning so much fun. She also got Nikki to be my babysitter for 2 of my sons . Lots of great memories . Rest in Peace my Friend. Condolences to Bob, Nikki , Chris & Eric & all of the Grandchildren .
