Lois J. (Sipes) Gaskell, 97, of Natrona Heights, died on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025, surrounded by her family at Concordia Lutheran Home, Cabot. She was born on Aug. 12, 1928, in Brackenridge, to the late John and Cora Kamerer Sipes. Lois graduated from Har-Brack High School. She was the loving mother of Nancy Grossman of Natrona Heights, Stephen (Ann) Grossman of Greensboro, NC, and Patty Healy of Tarentum. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Julie (Mike) Mazur, Andy (Kassie) Healy, Matt (Rachel) Grossman, and Mary Beth (Tommy) Butler. In addition, she is survived by six beautiful great-grandchildren, Dylan and Luke Healy, Emmy and Liam Butler, and Vivi and Silvi Grossman. She is also survived by her siblings, Janet (Jay) Heck of Portland, OR, and Ronald Sipes of Nashville, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Gaskell, and her siblings, Virginia Stockdale and Jack Sipes. Raising her family, she was active in the Junior Women's Club and Intermediate Women's Club in Natrona Heights. She was a lifelong member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Natrona Heights. Lois was an avid volunteer, chaperoning youth events, coordinating bazaars, and starting the church thrift shop. In her later years she was active visiting shut-ins and enjoyed volunteering at the Burtner House. She loved hosting holiday gatherings in her large farmhouse and spending time with family. Lois never met a stranger and made friends wherever she went. Despite her declining health, her humor and cheery disposition made her a "favorite patient" for her nurses and aides. She will be remembered for her great love of God and the beautiful way she would pray for others. Family and friends are invited from 10 to 11 a.m. to the Grace United Methodist Church, 1333 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA 15065. Services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Darlene Ryniec, assisted by the Rev. Diane Randolph, officiating. Private burial will take place at Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
