Margaret Lasher Obituary

Margaret Ann "Peg" (Berry) Lasher, 71, of Leechburg, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014, at the Forbes Hospice Unit at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a brief illness. Born Aug. 5, 1942, in Kelly Station, Bethel Township, she was a daughter of the late Lewis C. and Erma M. (Schultz) Berry. She lived in the area most of her life. Margaret was a homemaker, an avid reader and enjoyed playing bingo, camping, fishing, crocheting and working the Sunday Times crossword puzzles. Survivors include three sons, James E. (Penny) Thompson, of Halethorpe, Md., Michael A. Thompson, of Avonmore, and William E. (Lana) Thompson, of Vandergrift; three daughters, Lynnette R. Piper, of Avonmore, Margaret A. "Peggy" (Jeff) Baker, formerly of Vandergrift, and Kedrin L. (Amy M.) Lasher, of East Vandergrift; her former husband, Gary A. Lasher, of Leechburg; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one niece; and six nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Helen Lucinda (Dunn) Berry; brother, Kenneth Lewis Berry; sister, Shirley McGuire; and daughter-in-law, Patty Thompson. Friends will be welcomed by her family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at CLAWSON FUNERAL and CREMATION CENTER, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051, where funeral ceremonies will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Scott Fairman officiating. Interment will be made in Ford City Cemetery, Manor Township. There will be no graveside service. Contributions may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation in honor of her granddaughter, Lisa Magee.
