Margaret Manning-Monroe Obituary

Margaret Mary Manning-Monroe White Oak Margaret Mary Manning-Monroe died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012. She was born in McKeesport and was a resident of White Oak for most of her life. She was the daughter of Hugh C. Gilchrist Sr. and Bertha Hugo Gilchrist. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard Manning and Robert B. Monroe; as well as her sisters, Elizabeth Blank, Josephine Bissell, Agnes Schaming and Corrine Monroe; and one brother, H. Clifford Gilchrist Jr. She is survived by nieces, Margaret Ann Patterson, of Albuquerque, N.M., Betty Lou Eicher and Mary Jane Rhodes, of Elizabeth Township; and one nephew, George E. Bissell, of Addison. She is also survived by great-nieces and great-nephews. She was a longtime member of St. Angela de Merci Roman Catholic Church. In 2010, she began to reside at Palms at O'Neil in McKeesport until she moved to Henry Clay Villa in Markleysburg, in 2012, which was closer to her nephew and caretaker, George E. Bissell. There will be no viewing. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, from St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church in Farmington with Father James Popochock officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Elizabeth Township.
