Margie I. McCoy

1921 - 2016

Margie I. McCoy, 94, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Parker on Oct. 19, 1921, to the late Aaron and Margaret Pollum Texter and was a resident of New Kensington for over 70 years. Mrs. McCoy was a longtime member of the United Presbyterian Church of New Kensington. She enjoyed gardening, reading and cooking and was an avid animal lover. Margie was a drug clerk for the former Silverman's Drug Store for 16 years, and later worked for Pennex Pharmaceutical for 12 years. She and her late husband enjoyed their camp in McKean County. Survivors include her daughter, Pamela (Thomas) Rocchi, of New Kensington; three grandchildren, Gregory Suchanyc, of New York State, Brandt (Amy) Linza, of New Kensington, and Kurt (Christina) Linza, of Allegheny Township; two great-grandchildren, Leighann Linza and Bailey Linza; one great-great-granddaughter, Gabriella Linza; as well as her brother, Harry (Verda) Texter, of Parker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. McCoy, on Dec. 2, 1991; son, James A. McCoy; a daughter, Patricia McCoy Suchanyc; and her siblings, Robert Texter and Phyllis Coleman.
Viewing will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Elaine M. Hower will preside. Private burial will be in Dutch Hill Cemetery, Parker.
